- Green On installs high-quality energy-efficient light globes to replace old incandescent and halogen light globes.
- Energy-efficient globes save up to 80% of the energy used by old-fashioned globes, and also last much longer.
- Switching your light globes offers an easy way to cut your electricity bills and reduce your greenhouse gas emissions.
Our energy-efficient light globes can help you to quickly and easily start saving power, reducing your energy bill and greenhouse gas emissions. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) are considered to be the most energy efficient forms of lighting, using up to 80% less energy to produce the same amount of light as incandescent and halogen lighting. This is because most of the energy used by energy-efficient globes is used solely to create light (rather than creating light and heat, which is what less efficient forms of lighting do). Switching to CFLs and LEDs offers an excellent, environmentally-friendly lighting solution that will result in significantly lower running costs compared to incandescent or halogen lighting. Because energy-efficient globes last much longer, it also means you won’t have to change your globes nearly as often! We stock products from the following brands: Ecobulb, Emerald Planet, Energy Mad, and Mirabella. These are available in both bayonet cap and Edison screw types. Our range of energy-efficient light globes includes the familiar “curly” CFLs, as well as the newer LED globes (which have a more traditional shape). The newer LED globes are available in a standard rounded shape, tapered candle shape, or as reflector globes (these are suitable for bathroom and outdoor lighting).
Energy-efficient light globes fall under Low efficiency lighting to HE lighting (Activity 21A) of the Incandescent Lighting Replacement category of the VEET Scheme. There is no upper limit to the number of energy-efficient light globes that can be installed at each property. Please note that energy-efficient light globes can only be installed to replace existing incandescent (old-fashioned) light globes. Whilst our LED globes are dimmer-compatible, CFLs cannot be installed into dimmable circuits.
